Where Can I Find Non Cotton Toddler Girl Clothing?

With natural fibers being all the rage in all types of fashion circles, you have likely seen an influx of clothing lines featuring cotton and other types of natural fibers. When shopping for a baby or toddler, the market is even more saturated with these types of toddler girl clothing choices. However, they aren’t always suitable, either in style or for the occasion. In this case, you will have to look harder than your local department store to find the non-cotton clothing to meet your needs. There are a few good places to look for more original outfits for your little girl.
Prom and Formal Clothing Shops
While this likely isn’t the first place you think of when you are shopping for a toddler girl, they are actually a great source for non-cotton toddler girl clothing. After all, most wedding parties have flower girls and other young children in the group, and formal dress is needed. Dresses in silk, polyester and tulle are available at a prom or formal clothing shop. Keep in mind that these shops have sale cycles, just like everywhere else. Prime wedding season is in the spring and regular clearance sales are held both right before, and a bit after, that time. You can often get very expensive toddler girl clothing for half off, or more. If you are flexible about color and style, you are much more likely to find a great deal.
Natural Doesn’t Have to Mean Cotton
While a lot of the selection in standard baby and toddler clothing is made with cotton, the interest in natural fibers doesn’t mean that all toddler girl clothing is produced with cotton. In fact, there is a growing trend to focus on alternative natural fibers, such as bamboo, hemp and silk. While some of these fibers are traditionally manufactured to be dry cleaned only, many children’s manufacturers use very laundry friendly preparations, making them machine washable. However, always double check care requirements on the tag to avoid surprises later. Alternative natural fibers can be found at many baby boutiques, at online shops and even in some department store lines. These choices are great for your toddler’s casual wear.
Savvy Shoppers Buy Used
Just a decade ago, a modern parent wouldn’t be caught dead admitting that they regularly used alternative shopping venues to clothe their little princess. However, buying used has become so popular that even celebrities openly admit that they use this money saving trick. When you are buying non-cotton toddler girl clothing, don’t forget to check out your favorite thrift store or tag sale route. Online auctions can also be a great source for upper scale clothing for little ones. Be sure to pay close attention to photos and ask any questions you may have before bidding. The best part about these techniques is that if the item has held up to use and abuse this long, it is probably good quality and easy to clean.
If you walk into your local department store and are less than pleased with the selection and quality of what you see, don’t despair. There are plenty of alternative sources and places where you can look for non-cotton toddler girl’s clothes. It can be fun to dress your little girl, either for a formal occasion or just every day. If you don’t find what you want right away, keep looking. You might be surprised at where you can find great clothing for your little girl.
